TSD is investing more and more in the field of TM/TC systems and Payload data transmitters with the aim of becoming a reference supplier of:

 • Complete TM/TC systems
 • CCSDS encoders & decoders
 • Command & Telemetry Ground Units
 • Demodulator and Bit Sysnchroniser
 • S-band & X-band Payload high data rate transmitters

TSD effort is focused towards the development of ITAR free COTS products


Radar Digital Unit

 • TSD Custom Designed Electronics composed of a RDU Main Board + Mezzanine
 • RDU Main Board architecture PowerPC based
 • PCIX mezzanine (RDU-Front End) able to acquire the echo signal of the RADAR
 • A/D converter@16 bit (max freq. 200 MHz)
 • 3.3 GHz bandwidth (A/D converter + differential receiver)
 • 1 x RS232 asynch. input port to interface GPS
 • 1 x RS232 asynch input port to interface INS
 • 4 x SATA HDDs (60GB each) to store acquired data
 • 1 x ETH I/F for downloading of the stored data
 • 8 x LVDS drivers for RADAR subsystems driving
 • 1 x external clock input (with the ability to generate 8 periodic signals starting from the clock input)


Demodulator and bit synchronizer

 • Based on XLINK FPGAs
 • Bit Synchronizer based on “Gardner Time Error Detector”

 • Based on radiation tolerant Actel FPGA

Telecommand system for Stratospheric Ballons

This system was used in ASI Antarctica Flight Campaign. It comprises
