CDIC & INEXMAM III PCDS

The PCDS for the CDIC - MAXUS 5 Sounding Rocket

In the frame of the MASER 10 Program TSD developed the Power Management System for the CDIC experiment. The module hosting the experiment is shown in the left image. The right image shows the Power Conditioning and Distribution System (PCDS) hosted in the PMS.

 The Main Specifications of the CDIC PCDS are hereafter reported

Main capabilities
 • Power and data I/F to 2 cell strings 28[V] battery
 • Power driving for 6 illuminators with current regulation
 • Power actuation and monitoring of 4 two-way valves
I/Fs
 • 4 x controlled and monitored output power lines for video cameras supply
 • 28V output power line @ 2[A] for H2VMU power
 • 3-wire serial interface I/F to the Computer and Power Management Module
H/K and protection
 • Battery Cell Strings control during charging and discharging
 • Battery Cell Strings voltage, current and temperature monitoring
 • Current and voltage monitoring of the output power lines short circuit and overload protection

The PCDS for the INEXMAM III - MAXUS 5 Sounding Rocket
 

The MAXUS programme is a joint venture between SSC and Astrium, Germany that provides up to 14 minutes of microgravity. TSD designed and developed for the MAXUS 5 mission (April 2003) the Power Conditioning and Distribution System (PCDS) for the module hosting the INEXMAM III experiment.
